CAHERCONNELL STONE FORT
Caherconnell Stone Fort is a very well preserved medevil stone ringfort dating back from the early 10th to mid 12th century. It is a scenic 35 minutes drive from the Cliffs of Moher and just one kilometre away from Poulnabrone Dolmen. The fort overlooks a vast expanse of The Burren and its location and imposing walls of up to 3 metres thick and 3 metres high suggest it was a defensive settlement
A visitor centre is now located at The Fort where you can learn the history of the fort and the people who inhabited.
